The Language Bank is a project designed by the members of Altrusa International of Lake County in an effort to provide a directory of local volunteers who are willing to serve as translators for the various languages they speak. Translation services are provided free of charge.

The Language Bank publication lists more than thirty different languages and is updated annually. The Language Bank is available at various county and city government offices, city halls, libraries, fire departments, police departments, Sheriff=s office, schools, community colleges, hospitals, United Way agencies, EMS offices, and newspapers throughout Lake County.
A very special thank you is extended to the volunteers listed in the Language Bank for their willingness to share their time and talents to meet the diverse language needs of our community, and making this directory possible. Their talents are invaluable in meeting a community need to bridge the communication gap and providing much appreciated foreign language translation.
